‘আমার ১৪ বছরের নাবালক ছেলেকে আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর অঙ্গ সংগঠনের নেতা-কর্মীরা নির্মমভাবে গুলি করে শহীদ করেছে। আমি খুনিদের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা করেছি এবং অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের কাছে ন্যায়বিচার দাবি করছি।’ কান্নাজড়িত কণ্ঠে কথাগুলো বলেন, বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র-জনতার আন্দোলনে যোগ দিয়ে শহীদ আশিকুর ইসলামের মা আরিশা আফরোজ। তিনি বলেন, ‘আমি একজন অসহায় কর্মজীবী মা। এক বছর বয়সী সন্তানকে কোলে নিয়ে স্বামীর সংসার ছেড়ে দর্জি কাজ করে জীবিকা নির্বাহ করেছি। একা একা সন্তানকে নিয়ে অনেক কষ্ট করেছি।’ আরিশার জীবনযুদ্ধ ও আশিকুরের বেড়ে ওঠা দিনাজপুরের বিরামপুর উপজেলার ইসলামপাড়া মহল্লায় বাবার বাড়িতে বসে বাসস সংবাদদাতার কথা হয় আরিশার সঙ্গে। তিনি বলেন, ‘প্রায় ১৩ বছর আগে নবাবগঞ্জ উপজেলার নরহরিপুর গ্রামের ফরিদুল ইসলামের সঙ্গে আমার তালাক হয়ে যায়। আশিকুর তখন এক বছর বয়সী শিশু।’ ‘এরপর নিজের চেষ্টায় ঢাকা শহরে আসি। রামপুরা-বনশ্রী এলাকায় জি- ব্লক এলাকায় দোকান ভাড়া নিয়ে নিজের চেষ্টা ও পরিশ্রমে দর্জির কাজ করছি। ‘এই দর্জি কাজের রোজগারে গত এক যুগের বেশি সময় ধরে আশিকুর ইসলামসহ বসবাস করে আসছি।’ আরিশা বলেন, ‘রামপুর এলাকায় একটি ছোট্ট ঘর ভাড়া নিয়ে খুব কষ্ট করে এক বছরের শিশুটিকে বড় করেছি। পাঁচ বছর বয়সে আশিকুরকে একটি কওমি মাদ্রাসায় ভর্তি করে দিই। সকালবেলা রান্না করে, দুপুরের খাবার টিফিন ক্যারিয়ারে সাজিয়ে তাকে মাদ্রাসায় পৌঁছে দিয়ে দর্জির দোকানে যেতাম। এভাবেই আমার জীবন চলছিল।’ আরিশা জানান, নিজের নিরাপত্তার কথা ভেবে পাঁচ বছর আগে তিনি দ্বিতীয় বিয়ে করলেও আশিকুরকে আগের মতোই আদর-স্নেহে বড় করছিলেন। আন্তরিকতায় কোনো ঘাটতি বা খাদ রাখেননি। ১৮ জুলাই: সেই কালো দিন ‘ঘটনার দিন দুপুরে আমি, আমার স্বামী ও আশিকুর এক বিয়ের দাওয়াতে যাই। খাওয়া শেষে আমি আমার দর্জির দোকানে ফিরে আসি। কিছুক্ষণ পর আশিকুর বাসায় যাওয়ার কথা বলে বেরিয়ে যায়। ‘সন্ধ্যায় খবর পাই, বৈষম্যবিরোধী আন্দোলনে যোগ দেওয়া ছাত্র-জনতার ওপর আওয়ামী লীগ ও তার অঙ্গ সংগঠনের নেতা-কর্মীরা গুলিবর্ষণ করেছে। এই খবর পেয়ে আমি হতভম্ব হয়ে পড়ি। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বনশ্রী জি-ব্লকে গিয়ে দেখি রাস্তায় রক্তের ছড়াছড়ি। ‘স্থানীয়রা জানায়, আহতদের হাসপাতালে নেওয়া হয়েছে। পরে অ্যাডভান্স হাসপাতালে গিয়ে এক ঘণ্টা খোঁজার পর আমার ছেলের গুলিবিদ্ধ লাশ পাই। ছেলের লাশ দেখে আমি জ্ঞান হারিয়ে ফেলি ’ বলতে বলতে কান্নায় ভেঙে পড়েন আরিশা। লাশ দাফন ও মামলা আরিশা বলেন, স্থানীয় লোকজন ও আমার ছেলে সহপাঠীরা আমার মাথায় পানি ঢেলে আমার জ্ঞান ফেরায়। জ্ঞান ফিরে দেখি। আশিকুরের বাবা, আমার প্রথম স্বামী ফরিদুল ছেলের মৃত্যুর খবর শুনে হাসপাতালে এসেছেন। এরপর পুলিশ ক্লিয়ারেন্স নিয়ে রাত আড়াইটায় নবাবগঞ্জে তার গ্রামের বাড়িতে লাশ নিয়ে যাই। ‘১৯ জুলাই আশিকুরকে তার বাবার পারিবারিক কবরস্থানে দাফন করা হয়।’ ২৭ জুলাই খিলগাঁও থানায় মামলা করতে গেলে পুলিশ আদালতে যাওয়ার পরামর্শ দেয়। পরদিন ঢাকার অতিরিক্ত চিফ জুডিশিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট তোফাজ্জল হোসেনের আদালতে সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা, সাবেক স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান কামালসহ ১৩ জনের নাম উল্লেখ করে এবং ১৫০ জন অজ্ঞাতনামার বিরুদ্ধে হত্যা মামলা দায়ের করা হয়। বিচারকের নির্দেশে ৯ সেপ্টেম্বর খিলগাঁও থানায় ৩০২/৩৪ ধারায় মামলা রেকর্ড করা হয় (মামলা নং ১৬, তারিখ: ৯/৯/২০২৪)। মামলায় কয়েকজন আসামিকে পুলিশ গ্রেফতার করেছে বলে জানা গেছে। বাবা-মার প্রতিক্রিয়া শহীদ আশিকুর ইসলামের বাবা ফরিদুল ইসলাম বলেন, আমার আশিকুর এক বছর থাকতে তার মা মায়ের সাথে সংসার ভেঙ্গে যায়। এরপর আমি ৪ বছর কোনো বিয়ে-শাদী করি নাই। বেশ কয়েকবার আরিশার সঙ্গে দেখা করে পুনরায় স্ত্রী হিসেবে নিয়ে আসার জন্য চেষ্টা করেছি। কিন্তু সে কোনো ক্রমে আমার সাথে দ্বিতীয় বার সংসার করতে রাজি হয়নি। ফলে আমার ছেলে আশিকুর বেশির ভাগ সময় তার মায়ের সাথেই ছিল। শহীদ আশিকুর ইসলামের বাবা ফরিদুল ইসলাম বলেন, ‘আমার ছেলে এক বছর বয়স থেকে মায়ের কাছে বড় হয়েছে। মাঝেমধ্যে আমার কাছে বেড়াতে আসত। তার মৃত্যু আমাদের পুরো পরিবারকে শোকের সাগরে ভাসিয়ে দিয় আরিশা আফরোজ বলেন, ‘আমি একজন অসহায় নারী। ছেলে আশিকুরই ছিল একমাত্র ভরসা। আমি তাকে ইসলামি শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত করার জন্য মাদ্রাসায় দিয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু তাকে অকালে হারাতে হলো। ‘এখন শুধু আমার শেষ ইচ্ছা: আমার ছেলে হত্যার ন্যায়বিচার হোক।’

"In the evening, I received the news that Awami League and its associate organization leaders and activists had opened fire on the students and people participating in the anti-discrimination movement. I was shocked to hear the news. I immediately went to the J-Block area of Bonshree and saw bloodstains on the road. "Locals told me that the injured had been taken to the hospital. After searching for an hour at the Advance Hospital, I found my son's bullet-riddled body. Seeing my son's body, I lost consciousness," Arisha said, breaking down in tears. The burial and the case Arisha said, "Local people and my son's classmates poured water on my head to bring me back to consciousness. When I regained consciousness, I saw Ashikur's father, my first husband, Faridul, had arrived at the hospital after hearing the news of his son's death. "We then took the body to our village home in Nababganj and buried Ashikur in his family graveyard the next day, July 19." On July 27, when Arisha went to file a case at the Khilgaon police station, the police advised her to go to court. The next day, a murder case was filed in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain, naming 13 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, and 150 unknown individuals. Under the judge's instructions, the case was recorded at the Khilgaon police station on September 9 (case no. 16, date: 9/9/2024) under section 302/34. It is learned that the police have arrested several accused in the case. Cause
