বৈষম্য বিরোধী ছাত্র-জনতা আন্দোলনে নিহত শেখ শাহরিয়ার বিন মতিন এইচ এস সি পরিক্ষায় উর্ত্তীণ হয়েছে এমন খবর পেয়ে হাউমাউ করে কান্নায় ভেঙে পড়েন মা মমতাজ বেগম। মঙ্গলবার ফলাফল সিটে দেখা যায় নিহত শাহরিয়ার বিন মতিন ৪.৮৩ পেয়ে উর্ত্তীণ হয়েছে। তিনি চিৎকার করে বলছিলেন আমার ছেলের পরিক্ষার ফলাফল পাইছি আমার ছেলে পাস করেছে। আমার ছেলে ভালো করে পাস করেছে। এসময় ঘরে থাকা শাহরিয়ারের ছবিটি হাতে নিয়ে চুমু খেতে খেতে চিৎকার করে ওঠেন বাবা তুমি ভালো রিজাল করেছ। আমি অনেক খুশি! তোমারে যারা খুন করেছে আমি ওদের ছাড়বো না। তোমার খুনের সাথে জড়িতদের ফাঁসি দেখে মরতে চাই। উল্লেখ্য যে, গত ১৮ জুলাই বিকেলে ঢাকার মিরপুর ১০ নম্বরের গোলচত্বরের কাছে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয় শেখ শাহরিয়ার বিন মতিন। তাঁর ডান চোখের পাশ দিয়ে গুলি ঢুকে তার মস্তিষ্ক ছিদ্র করে চলে যায়। মিরপুরে খালার বাসায় বেড়াতে গিয়েছিলেন শাহরিয়ার। সেখান থেকেই খালাত ভাই এবং তার বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে আন্দোলনে অংশ নেন তিনি। বিকেলের দিকে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয় শাহরিয়ার। সেখানে তার আন্দোলন সহযোদ্ধারা আহত অবস্থায় তাকে উদ্ধার করে প্রথমে মিরপুরের একটি হাসপাতালে নেওয়া হয়েছিল। অবস্থার অবনতি হলে তাকে পাঠানো হয় ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে। সেখানে নিবিড় পরিচর্যা কেন্দ্রে লাইফ সাপোর্টে দুদিন চিকিৎসাধীন ছিলেন তিনি। অবশেষে গত ২০ জুলাই শনিবার বেলা ২টার পর তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসকগণ। ময়নাতদন্ত শেষে গত ২১ জুলাই রাত সাড়ে ১২টায় গ্রামের বাড়ি ময়মনসিংহের ঈশ্বরগঞ্জ উপজেলার কুমড়াশাসন উত্তরপাড়া গ্রামে আনা হয় মরদেহ। ২২ জুলাই সোমবার সকাল ১০টায় জানাজা শেষে দাফন করা হয় বাড়ির পাশের কবরস্থানে। সুহার্তো ময়মনসিংহের ঈশ্বরগঞ্জ আইডিয়াল কলেজ থেকে এবার এইচএসসি পরীক্ষায় অংশ নিয়ে জিপিএ ৪.৮৩ পেয়ে উর্ত্তীণ হয়েছেন। বাবা আবদুল মতিন জানান তাঁর পক্ষে আইনজীবী মো. আসাদ উদ্দিন আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালের তদন্ত সংস্থায় শেখ শাহরিয়ারকে হত্যার অভিযোে গত ২১ আগস্ট একটি মামলা করেছেন। আবেদনে সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা, রাশেদ খান মেনন, হাসানুল হক ইনু, আনোয়ার হোসেন মঞ্জু, ঢাকা উত্তর সিটির সাবেক মেয়র আতিকুলসহ ৫২ জনকে আসামি করা হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি আওয়ামী লীগ, যুবলীগ, ছাত্রলীগ ও অজ্ঞাতনামা ৫০০ জনকে আসামি করা হয়েছে। ঈশ্বরগঞ্জ আইডিয়াল কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ আলমগীর কবির বলেন, শেখ শাহরিয়ার বিন মতিন আমার কলেজের মেধাবী ছাত্র ছিলো। অনেক নম্রভদ্র ভালো ব্যবহার ছিলো তার। আজ তার এইচএসসির ফল বেড়িয়েছ সে জানতেও পারল না। বিষয়টি অত্যান্ত মর্মান্তিক। আল্লাহর কাছে দোয়া করি ওর যেন বেহেস্ত নসীব হয়।

It is to be mentioned that on the afternoon of July 18, Sheikh Shahriar Bin Motin was shot near the Golchattar in Mirpur 10, Dhaka. The bullet entered through the right side of his head and exited through the brain. Shahriar was visiting a friend's house in Mirpur and participated in the movement with his friends. In the afternoon, Shahriar was shot, and his fellow protesters rescued him and took him to a hospital in Mirpur. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He was in intensive care for two days and was declared dead by the on-duty doctors on July 20 at 2 pm. After the autopsy, the body was taken to his village home in Mymensingh's Ishwarganj upazila on the night of July 21. The funeral was held on July 22 at 10 am, and he was buried in the family graveyard. Shahriar appeared for the HSC exam from Mymensingh's Ideal College and passed with a GPA of 4.83. Shahriar's father, Abdul Motin, said that a case was filed on August 21 with the International Crimes Tribunal's investigation agency, accusing 52 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, of Shahriar's murder. The accused include Rashid Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, Anwar Hossain Manju, and former Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam, as well as 500 unnamed individuals from the Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, and other organizations. The principal of Ishwarganj Ideal College, Alamgir Kabir, said that Sheikh Shahriar Bin Motin was a meritorious student of the college and a humble and well-behaved person. Today, his HSC results were published, but he did not get to know about it. The incident is very tragic. I pray to Allah for his soul to rest in peace.
Cause
He was shot in the head on the afternoon of July 18. He died on Saturday after two days in the ICU.
